The S&P 500 and Nasdaq hit record highs on Thursday, boosted by Apple and on hopes that the Federal Reserve would maintain an accommodative policy amid signs that a broader economic recovery was slowing.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 40.5 points, or 0.11 per cent, at the open to 35,353.06. The S&P 500 rose 10.4 points, or 0.23 per cent, at the open to 4,534.48, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 49.1 points, or 0.32 per cent, to 15,358.474 at the opening bell.
