NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 172.44 points up at 57510.65 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Ridings Consulting (down 17.85 per cent), Phyto Chem (down 11.16 per cent), Vanta Bioscience (down 10.41 per cent), Anjani Finance (down 9.07 per cent) and S R Industries (down 8.33 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 33 stocks traded in the green, while 17 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 59.55 points up at 17135.8.
On the BSE, Ridings Consulting, Vanta Bioscience, Aashka Hospitals Ltd., RJ Shah Co and Premier Capital Services Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Zen Tech, TD Power Sys, BLS Int. Services, Meghmani Finechem Ltd. and 8K Miles Soft touched their fresh 52-week highs.
