Shares of Exide Industries (up 6.43 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 2.54 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 2.53 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 1.93 per cent) and Bosch (up 1.6 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TIINDIA (down 1.36 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 1.03 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.34 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.02 per cent up at 10124.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 89.45 points at 17323.6, while the BSE Sensex stood up 277.41 points at 58129.95.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended in the green, while 15 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, Trident Ltd and Exide Inds. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of STEL Holdings, Shriram City Union, Accuracy Shipping, Prestige Estate and AYM Syntex hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Nandani Creation, Grand Foundry, Servotech Power Syst, Inventure Grwth and Yuken India hit their fresh 52-week lows.
