IDFCBANK (up 3.23 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 1.87 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.46 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank (up 1.16 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (up 1.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Axis Bank (down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.22 per cent at 36913.35 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 60.2 points at 17294.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 201.21 points at 58053.75.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
