In a regulatory filing, the company said, “The weighted average price increase in Ex Showroom Prices (Delhi) across select models is 1.9%.”
Except Celerio, prices of all models have been hiked, PTI said in its report.
This is the third price hike by Maruti Suzuki this year.
The carmaker had last month said that a price hike was necessary, as it looks to protect its profitability amid a steep rise in commodity prices.
MSI Senior Executive Director (Sales and Marketing) Shashank Srivastava had said there was no other option left for the company, but to increase prices to offset the impact of high commodity costs.
The maker of popular hatchbacks like Swift and Baleno also had warned that chip shortage could lead to production getting halved in the month of September.
However, experts believe that the impact of chip shortage would not be as much on Maruti as it will be on some of the other rivals.
Last week, the car maker said it will recall 1,81,754 units of petrol trims across different models making it the largest recall so far.
