Vakrangee share price: Biggest gainers & losers of the day: Vakrangee soars 14%; Adani stocks bleed

New Delhi: Domestic equity market continued to set new lifetime peaks as it extended its gains for the third straight session. Reliance and IT stocks led the rally, whereas banks and consumer durable counters capped the gains.

The 30-share pack Sensex gained 166.96 points or 0.29 per cent to close at 58,296.91. Its broader peer NSE Nifty gained 54.20 points or 0.31 per cent to 17,377.80. BSE midcap and smallcap indices also ended in the green.

In the new week, real estate stocks were much in demand and Zen Technologies continued to hit upper circuit. Nelco and Adani Group stocks hit lower circuits, thanks to profit booking in them.

Here is a look at some of the biggest movers and shakers of Monday’s session:

TOP GAINERS OF THE DAY

Vakrangee: The IT service provider jumped 14 per cent to Rs 44.45 as the company renewed its agreement with the Indian Bank to provide pan-India banking and end to end financial inclusion services at Vakrangee Kendra outlets.

Prestige Estates: The real estate player zoomed 14 per cent to Rs 480.20 ahead of the payment of dividend. The counter has been in much demand considering the rally in real estate stocks.

Caplin Point Laboratories: Shares of pharmaceutical player gained 13 per cent to Rs 838.50 ahead of its annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled on September 28. The traded volume jumped manifold than the average traded volume.

IndiaMART InterMEST: The B2B marketplace added over 10 per cent to Rs 8,923.15. The company has been on a roll ever since its inclusion in the F&O segment. The scrip has added more than 20 per cent in the last one week.

Zen Technologies: The defence sector player again hit upper circuit of 10 per cent to Rs 169.10. The company has been much in demand over the multi-billion order win from Indian Air Force and other players.

Welspun India: The textile player gained 9 per cent to Rs 137.35 as it became the first Indian company to receive US FDA 510(k) approval for its 3-ply surgical masks.

TOP LOSERS OF THE DAY

Nelco: Shares of Tata Group firm hit lower circuit of 5 per cent to Rs 555.20 as investors booked profits in the company after a strong 52 per cent jump in the counter during the last one month.

Adani stocks: Shares of Adani group companies hit lower circuit due to profit taking following a sharp rally of 50 per cent in the last four weeks. Adani Total Gas and Adani Power tanked 5 per cent each to Rs 1,393.60 and Rs 98, respectively.

Vikas WSP: The microcap speciality chemical player shed 4 per cent to Rs 4.81 after the company informed the resignation of its chief financial officer (CFO) citing personal reasons.

ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company: The general insurer fell 4 per cent to Rs 1561.90 as insurance regulator Irdai gave its final approval for the demerger of the general insurance business of Bharti AXA General Insurance to itself by way of a scheme of arrangement.
