Shares of IDFCBANK (up 2.77 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 0.94 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 0.23 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Axis Bank (down 1.62 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 1.19 per cent), Federal Bank (down 1.03 per cent), Bandhan Bank (down 0.89 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 0.59 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.34 per cent down at 36468.8.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 15.7 points at 17362.1, while the BSE Sensex stood down 17.43 points at 58279.48.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, BHEL, ITC and NALCO were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Rex Pipes and Cables Industries Ltd., Arman Financial, Neogen Chemicals, Bharat Gears and Zen Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Ujjivan Financial, HEC Infra Projects, Nandani Creation, Jalan Transolutions and Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
