Benchmark NSE Nifty index fell 57.1 points to 17320.7 amid selling in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Ujjivan Financial, Nandani Creation, Jalan Transolutions, Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd. and Varroc Engg., touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 17 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 33 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, ITC, Asian Paints, Tata Consumer, Britannia and HUL were among top gainers, while Axis Bank, Kotak Bank, Tata Motors, Sun Pharma and SBI traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 214.07 points down at 58082.84 at 10:40AM (IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Diversified, Tea / Coffee, Metals – Ferrous, Tobacco and Telecommunications sectors, while selling was visible in IT – Hardware, Petrochemicals, Power, Real Estate and Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock sectors.
