Shares of Ashok Leyland (up 0.91 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.22 per cent), Tata Motors (up 0.22 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.13 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries (up 0.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Exide Industries (down 1.53 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (down 1.39 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 1.3 per cent), Bajaj Auto (down 1.2 per cent) and MRF (down 1.04 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.52 per cent down at 10100.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 8.6 points at 17353.5, while the BSE Sensex stood down 29.22 points at 58250.26.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, PNB and Trident Ltd were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Rex Pipes and Cables Industries Ltd., Alphageo , Goldiam Intnl, Kamdhenu and Arman Financial hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Nandani Creation, Jalan Transolutions, Inventure Grwth and Ujjivan Financial hit their fresh 52-week lows.
