Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 8.6 points down at 17353.5 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.
However, stocks such as Nandani Creation, Jalan Transolutions, Inventure Grwth and Ujjivan Financial, touched their fresh 52-week lows.
Overall, 27 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 23 closed in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Kotak Bank, BPCL, Grasim Inds., Coal India Ltd and Tata Consumer were among top gainers during the day, while Nestle India, Divis Labs, Wipro, NTPC and SBI Life ended in the red.
The BSE Sensex closed 29.22 points down at 58250.26.
Traders piled up positions in Cables, Term Lending Institutions, Services, Diversified and Textiles sectors, while selling was witnessed in IT – Hardware, Petrochemicals, Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock, Power and Industrial Equipment sectors during the day.
