Mindtree (up 1.89 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (up 1.52 per cent), Tata Consultancy (up 1.2 per cent), Wipro (up 0.66 per cent) and Coforge (up 0.52 per cent) were among the top gainers.
MPhasis (down 0.79 per cent), Infosys (down 0.48 per cent) and HCL Technologies (down 0.18 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.36 per cent at 34928.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 90.05 points at 17279.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 300.87 points at 58004.2.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.
