Benchmark NSE Nifty index fell 68.5 points to 17300.75 amid selling in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Nandani Creation, Jiya Eco Products Lt, Varroc Engg. and Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd., touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 18 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 32 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Coal India Ltd, Hindalco, TCS, Wipro and Bharti Airtel were among top gainers, while RIL, ICICI Bank, HDFC Life, Eicher Motors and SBI Life traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 295.59 points down at 58009.48 at 10:19AM (IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Rubber, Diversified, Metals – Ferrous, Agro Processing and Glass sectors, while selling was visible in IT – Hardware, Petrochemicals, Power, Services and Tea / Coffee sectors.
