Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 13.95 points down at 17355.3 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.
However, stocks such as Jiya Eco Products Lt, Varroc Engg., Krsnaa Diagnostics Ltd., Grand Foundry and Inventure Grwth, touched their fresh 52-week lows.
Overall, 32 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 18 closed in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Coal India Ltd, Hindalco, TCS, BPCL and Wipro were among top gainers during the day, while RIL, ICICI Bank, HUL, HDFC Bank and M&M ended in the red.
The BSE Sensex closed 127.31 points down at 58177.76.
Traders piled up positions in Rubber, IT Enabled Services, Packaging, Metals – Non Ferrous and Metals – Ferrous sectors, while selling was witnessed in IT – Hardware, Petrochemicals, Power, Services and Textiles sectors during the day.
