Larsen & Toubro Infotech (up 2.24 per cent), HCL Technologies (up 1.38 per cent), MPhasis (up 0.57 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 0.55 per cent) and Coforge (up 0.46 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Mindtree (down 0.51 per cent) and Infosys (down 0.06 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.46 per cent at 35290.6 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 71.2 points at 17426.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 239.54 points at 58417.3.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.
