Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 78.75 points to 17458.75 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Inventure Grwth, Vertoz Advertising, Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd. and PVP Ventures Ltd., touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 35 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 15 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, NTPC, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Titan Company and Power Grid were among top gainers, while Axis Bank, BPCL, Grasim Inds., JSW Steel and HDFC Bank traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 258.62 points up at 58505.71 at 10:35AM (IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Diversified, Learning & Education, Gems and Jewellery, Telecommunications and Metals – Ferrous sectors, while selling was visible in IT – Hardware, Petrochemicals, Power, Industrial Consumables and Real Estate sectors.
