Shares of Biocon (up 5.38 per cent), Alkem Laboratories (up 0.57 per cent), Divis Laboratories (up 0.16 per cent), Cipla (up 0.11 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.05 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Lupin (down 2.15 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories (down 0.62 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (down 0.56 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (down 0.29 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals (down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.02 per cent up at 14491.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 110.05 points at 17629.5, while the BSE Sensex stood up 417.96 points at 59141.16.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, ITC and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ganesh Benzo, BEW Engineering Ltd., Bodhi Tree Multimed, Easy Trip Planners Ltd. and Ami Organics Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Krsnaa Diagnostics Ltd. and Inventure Grwth hit their fresh 52-week lows.
