TOP GAINERS OF THE DAY
Vodafone Idea: The telecom operator soared 26 per cent to Rs 11.25 after the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a big-bang relief package for the stressed telecom sector. The AGR and spectrum moratorium is likely to defer Rs 96,000-crore payouts and avoid bankruptcy.
YES Bank: The private lender zoomed 16 per cent to Rs 14.75 after its investor/analyst met with Carmignac Gestion. The bank is also expected to reap benefits from the relief package for the telecom sector.
Indian Overseas Bank: The PSU lender surged 13 per cent to Rs 22.80 ahead of a press conference of the Finance Ministry later in the day. The counter has been on the radar of the investors over privatisation buzz.
Thirumalai Chemicals: The speciality chemical player added 11 per cent to Rs 240.10, thanks to a strong demand for the products. Along with it, the technical setup of the scrip also supported the gains, the volumes of the counter showed.
Religare Enterprises: The financial services players advanced 11 per cent to Rs 170.75 amidst reports of IPO of Care Health Insurance. Religare is the majority shareholder of the health insurer.
Indus Towers: The telecom tower services player jumped 10 per cent to Rs 269.55 after the Union Cabinet approved a relief package for the telecom sector. The company is also a beneficiary of the move.
Surya Roshni: The diversified products players are expected to reap benefits of the PLI scheme of the central government. The scrip added 10 per cent to Rs 655.80 during the session.
TOP LOSERS OF THE DAY
Zensar Technologies: The IT consulting player tanked 8 per cent to Rs 536.45 investors booked profits in the counter. The scrip had jumped as much as 120 per cent in the last four months.
Zee Learn: The education player shed 7 per cent to Rs 15.24 as the euphoria over management rejig in ZEE settled down. The counter ended with declines, thanks to profit booking.
Hindustan Copper: The state-owned metal miner declined 6 per cent to Rs 117.05 after the floor price for the company’s offer for sale was set at Rs 116 per share, a 7 per cent discount to Wednesday’s closing price of Rs 124.50.
Poonawalla Fincorp: The NBFC hit a lower circuit of 5 per cent to settle the session at Rs 172.15 after the company changed its chief risk officer from immediate effect.
Zen Technologies: The smallcap defence player hit lower circuit of 5 per cent to settle at Rs 204.05 as investors booked profits in the company as it informed the bourses about investors and analysts meet.
