Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 120.1 points to 17749.6 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Ganesh Benzo, Intnl Conveyors and Krsnaa Diagnostics Ltd., touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 41 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 8 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Eicher Motors, ITC and Axis Bank were among top gainers, while Tata Steel, JSW Steel, UPL, Hindalco and ONGC traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 371.21 points up at 59512.37 at 10:04AM (IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Diversified, Airlines, Beverages – Alcoholic, Retail and Tourism & Hospitality sectors, while selling was visible in IT – Hardware, Petrochemicals, Power, Metals – Ferrous and Industrial Consumables sectors.
