Shares of IndusInd Bank (up 4.37 per cent), IDFCBANK (up 1.36 per cent), RBLBANK (up 1.06 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.47 per cent) and Federal Bank (up 0.44 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, AU Small Finance Bank (down 1.67 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 0.51 per cent), Bandhan Bank (down 0.28 per cent) and Axis Bank (down 0.06 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.24 per cent up at 37235.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 165.1 points at 17562.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 451.03 points at 58941.96.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 ended in the green, while 10 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, ITC and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of NDTV, Amrutanjan Healt, Clean Science & Technology Ltd., Seamec Ltd and Share India Sec hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd., Shanti Overseas (Ind, Generic Engg, Intnl Conveyors and CarTrade Tech Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
