Shares of Mindtree (up 3.89 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 3.55 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (up 1.89 per cent), MPhasis (up 1.69 per cent) and HCL Technologies (up 1.23 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Infosys (down 0.09 per cent) and Tata Consultancy (down 0.02 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.93 per cent up at 36422.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 15.35 points at 17546.65, while the BSE Sensex stood down 77.94 points at 58927.33.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 22 closed in the red.
