Mahindra & Mahindra (up 1.32 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 1.1 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 0.61 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 0.52 per cent) and Tata Motors (up 0.48 per cent) were among the top gainers.
TIINDIA (down 1.28 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 0.9 per cent), Exide Industries (down 0.85 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.49 per cent) and Ashok Leyland (down 0.47 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.36 per cent at 10410.3 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 103.9 points at 17926.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 393.65 points at 60279.01.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.
