Shares of Maruti Suzuki(up 0.28 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.26 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 0.13 per cent) and TVS Motor Company(up 0.07 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TIINDIA(down 5.01 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 3.17 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 3.15 per cent), MRF(down 1.72 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries(down 1.25 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.64 per cent down at 10695.95.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 106.5 points at 17748.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 410.28 points at 59667.6.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, YES Bank, IDBI Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Confidence Petro, Surana Telecom, Stove Kraft Ltd., Hind Oil Expl and IDBI Bank hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Opto Circuits, CarTrade Tech Ltd., Metalyst Forgings, Inventure Grwth and Dhani Ibull Ventures(PP)hit their fresh 52-week lows.
