Hemisphere Properties India(up 1.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Oberoi Realty(down 6.06 per cent), DLF(down 3.17 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(down 3.05 per cent), SOBHA(down 2.3 per cent) and Indiabulls Real Estate(down 1.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Realty index was down 2.3 per cent at 504.4 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 23.55 points at 17831.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 138.33 points at 59939.55.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.
