Shares of HCL Technologies(up 0.96 per cent), Coforge(up 0.88 per cent), Mindtree(up 0.57 per cent), Tata Consultancy(up 0.34 per cent) and Infosys(up 0.31 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 1.32 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software(down 0.97 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.46 per cent) and MPhasis(down 0.3 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.12 per cent up at 35282.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 37.3 points at 17711.3, while the BSE Sensex stood down 254.33 points at 59413.27.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 22 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, BHEL, Tata Power and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of PTC India, Max Ventures Ind, Godfrey Philips, Arvind SmartSpaces and 8K Miles Soft hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while CarTrade Tech Ltd., Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd., Opto Circuits, Shrem InvIT and Transwind Infrastruc hit their fresh 52-week lows.
