The NSE Nifty50 index ended 93.15 points down at 17618.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 286.91 points at 59126.36.
Bajaj Finance(up 2.03%), Bajaj Finserv(up 2.02%), Tata Motors(up 0.94%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.86%), NTPC(up 0.85%), SBI Life(up 0.76%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.67%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.61%), HDFC(up 0.29%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.07%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.64%), Asian Paints(down 2.36%), Axis Bank(down 1.99%), Eicher Motors(down 1.87%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.86%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.71%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 1.69%), JSW Steel(down 1.69%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.68%) and Shree Cement(down 1.64%) closed in the red.
