Shares of Alkem Laboratories(up 1.14 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.86 per cent), Cadila Healthcare(up 0.78 per cent), Lupin(up 0.43 per cent) and Biocon(up 0.03 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 1.57 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.43 per cent), Cipla(down 0.41 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 0.16 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.01 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.43 per cent up at 14466.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 93.15 points at 17618.15, while the BSE Sensex stood down 286.91 points at 59126.36.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 ended in the green, while 40 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Power, BHEL, PNB and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Quadpro ITeS Ltd., Thejo Engg, Spencer’s Retail Ltd., Triveni Turbine and Ambika Cotton hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Shrenik, Inventure Grwth, BKM Industries, Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd. and Krsnaa Diagnostics Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
