Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:56AM

EIFFL(up 4.85%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 1.47%), Parag Milk(up 0.60%), Vadilal Industries(up 0.53%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.41%), Dangee Dums(up 0.31%), Varun Beverages(up 0.22%) and Bajaj Consumer(up 0.16%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 2.44%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 1.19%), DFM Foods(down 1.17%), Dabur India(down 1.12%), Dodla Dairy(down 1.03%), P & G Hygiene(down 1.01%), ADF Foods(down 0.97%), Prataap Snacks(down 0.76%), Marico(down 0.74%) and Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.74%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 80.2 points down at 17537.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 291.16 points at 58835.2 at around 10:56AM.

JSW Steel(up 1.35%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.97%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.87%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.83%), Tata Steel(up 0.81%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 0.72%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.68%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.56%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.55%) and Axis Bank(up 0.55%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv(down 2.23%), Maruti Suzuki(down 2.2%), Asian Paints(down 1.83%), Bajaj Finance(down 1.7%), HDFC(down 1.67%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.35%), NTPC(down 1.34%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.29%), ICICI Bank(down 0.99%) and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.95%) were trading in the red.
