Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 3.45%), CESC(down 2.79%), NHPC(down 2.51%), NTL(down 2.44%), Indowind Energy(down 2.29%), Reliance Power(down 2.20%), JSW Energy(down 2.03%), Suzlon Energy(down 1.55%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 1.50%) and Torrent Power(down 1.43%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 105.8 points down at 17512.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 383.57 points at 58742.79 at around 10:35AM.
Indian Oil Corporation(up 1.16%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.03%), JSW Steel(up 0.91%), Tata Steel(up 0.65%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.55%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.53%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.53%), Wipro(up 0.32%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.32%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.3%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki(down 2.84%), Bajaj Finserv(down 2.66%), Bajaj Finance(down 1.94%), Asian Paints(down 1.78%), HDFC(down 1.73%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 1.48%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.38%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.27%), ICICI Bank(down 1.21%) and NTPC(down 1.2%) were trading in the red.
