Benchmark NSE Nifty index fell 101.95 points to 17516.2 amid selling in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Inventure Grwth, Opto Circuits, Krsnaa Diagnostics Ltd., Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd. and Metalyst Forgings, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 18 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 32 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Indian Oil Corp., M&M, JSW Steel, UltraTech Cem. and ONGC were among top gainers, while Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Asian Paints and HDFC traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 365.89 points down at 58760.47 at 10:40AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Diversified, Metals – Ferrous, IT – Hardware, Infrastructure and Leather sectors, while selling was visible in Learning & Education, Textiles, Petrochemicals, Telecommunications and Power sectors.
