Shares of Ashok Leyland(up 1.85 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.23 per cent), Bajaj Auto(up 0.99 per cent), Tata Motors(up 0.86 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(up 0.65 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bharat Forge(down 2.57 per cent), TIINDIA(down 0.48 per cent), MRF(down 0.48 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.39 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries(down 0.07 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.48 per cent up at 10692.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 131.05 points at 17822.3, while the BSE Sensex stood up 445.56 points at 59744.88.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Power, ONGC, YES Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of G M Breweries, Arvind Fashions, Patel Eng, IG Petrochem and AksharChem Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Silgo Retail, Quadpro ITeS Ltd., Inventure Grwth and BKM Industries hit their fresh 52-week lows.
