Brigade Enterprises(up 1.15 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Godrej Properties(down 2.57 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(down 2.56 per cent), SOBHA(down 2.29 per cent), DLF(down 1.44 per cent) and Oberoi Realty(down 1.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Realty index was down 1.45 per cent at 509.55 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 22.75 points at 17668.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 101.92 points at 59197.4.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.
