Benchmark NSE Nifty index fell 30.65 points to 17660.6 amid selling in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Quadpro ITeS Ltd. and BKM Industries, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 20 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 30 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, ONGC, Coal India Ltd, Indian Oil Corp., Bharti Airtel and UPL were among top gainers, while Cipla, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Finserv, Tech Mahindra and Dr. Reddys traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 126.12 points down at 59173.20 at 10:04AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Aquaculture, Diversified, Gas & Petroleum, Mining and Fertilisers sectors, while selling was visible in Learning & Education, Textiles, Petrochemicals, Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock and Telecommunications sectors.
