NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 488.1 points up at 59677.83 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Captain Pipes(down 10.66 per cent), Shiva Texyarn(down 9.95 per cent), Akashdeep Metal(down 9.95 per cent), Garware Synth(down 9.61 per cent) and Vama Industries(down 8.62 per cent) stood among the top losers in today’s trade.
In the Nifty pack, 33 stocks closed in the green, while 17 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 144.35 points up at 17790.35.
On the BSE, Lerthai Finance, SBL Infratech Ltd., Kiran Print Pack, Shukra Jewellery and Purple Entertainment hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Polymech Mac, Aban Offshore, Best Agrolife, Taylormade Renewable and Kirloskar Elec touched their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade.
