Strides Pharma Science(up 1.65 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 1.54 per cent), Granules India(up 1.08 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.77 per cent) and Lupin(up 0.41 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 1.16 per cent), Laurus(down 0.96 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 0.91 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 0.61 per cent) and Abbott India(down 0.48 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.11 per cent at 14599.55 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 37.9 points at 17908.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 134.81 points at 60000.97.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.
