Bharat Forge(up 0.62 per cent), Bajaj Auto(up 0.46 per cent), Bosch(up 0.33 per cent), Exide Industries(up 0.24 per cent) and TIINDIA(up 0.09 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tata Motors(down 1.81 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 1.16 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.7 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.37 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(down 0.29 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.46 per cent at 11815.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 107.3 points at 18269.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 300.79 points at 61037.84.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.
