State Bank of India(up 1.55 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.45 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 1.0 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 0.61 per cent) and ICICI Bank(up 0.35 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IndusInd Bank(down 1.44 per cent), RBLBANK(down 0.78 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 0.53 per cent), Federal Bank(down 0.48 per cent) and Axis Bank(down 0.41 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.47 per cent at 38818.85 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 142.85 points at 18304.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 432.85 points at 61169.9.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.
Shares of Tata Power, Tata Motors, Trident Ltd, Vodafone Idea and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of KDDL Ltd, Univastu India, Borosil L, Vaswani Ind and MindTree hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Pasupati Acrylon, Marine Electricals, Euro India Fresh and Airo Lam hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
