Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 176.8 points up at 18338.55 amid buying in frontline bluechip counters.
However, stocks such as Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Pasupati Acrylon, Inventure Grwth, Marine Electricals and Airo Lam, touched their fresh 52-week lows.
Overall, 35 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 15 closed in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Adani Ports SEZ, Wipro, Grasim Inds., ITC and HDFC Bank were among top gainers during the day, while Coal India Ltd, Tata Motors, Eicher Motors, TCS and HCL Tech ended in the red.
The BSE Sensex closed 568.9 points up at 61305.95.
Traders piled up positions in Shipping, Glass, Metals – Ferrous, Irrigation & Allied Services and IT – Hardware sectors, while selling was witnessed in Learning & Education, Textiles, Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock, Power and Services sectors during the day.
