Stocks that rallied over 10% included, INEOS Styrolution(13.64%), Venus Remedies(13.64%), Jupiter Infomed(13.16%), Tata Power(12.88%), Morarka Finance(12.88%), DRA Consultants(12.68%), Hindustan Zinc(12.35%), Gujarat Natural(11.81%), Uni Abex Alloy(11.73%) and Cera Sanitary(11.62%).
The 30-share Sensex traded 512.16 points up at 61818.11, while the 50-share Nifty index rose 167.9 points to 18506.45.
In the Nifty 50 index, 39 stocks traded in the green, while 11 stocks were in the red.
Stocks such as Vaksons Automobiles, Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd., Trident Texofab, Arfin India and JTL Infra hit their fresh 52-week high, while JLAInfraville&Shop, Texel Ind(PP), MFS Intercorp, Jiya Eco Products Lt and Rajvir Ind touched their new 52-week low in trade.
