Lexus Granito(up 4.76%), Pokarna(up 3.79%), KIOCL(up 3.42%), NMDC Ltd(up 2.61%), MOIL(up 1.54%), Coal India(up 0.82%) and 20 Microns(up 0.56%) stood among the top gainers.
Ashapura Minechem(down 3.30%), Oriental Trimex(down 1.66%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.90%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 0.90%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.72%) and Aro Granite Industries(down 0.47%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 138.5 points up at 18477.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 459.64 points at 61765.59.
Hindalco Industries(up 5.17%), Infosys(up 4.45%), Tech Mahindra(up 3.41%), JSW Steel(up 3.31%), Tata Steel(up 2.62%), ICICI Bank(up 2.5%), Tata Motors(up 2.41%), ITC(up 2.34%), Maruti Suzuki(up 2.14%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.92%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, HCL Technologies(down 2.38%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 2.2%), Asian Paints(down 1.71%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.64%), Britannia Industries(down 1.48%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.26%), HDFC Bank(down 1.01%), Eicher Motors(down 0.94%), Cipla(down 0.83%) and Hero MotoCorp(down 0.81%) closed in the red.
