The 30-share pack Sensex shed 49.54 points or 0.08 per cent to close at 61,716.05. Its broader peer Nifty50 declined 58.30 points or 0.32 per cent to 18,418.75. Broader markets underperformed as BSE midcap and smallcap indices tanked 2 per cent each.
Restaurant and discretionary stocks were at the focus after the Maharashtra government’s new order for shops and eating outlets. On the contrary, investors booked profits in recent star performers amidst the rising volatility. IRCTC was down as much as 15 per cent during the day.

GAINERS
Speciality Restaurants: The fine dining restaurant chain zoomed 18 per cent to Rs 108.85 after the Maharashtra government on Monday decided to extend restaurants timings from 10 pm to 12 am. Devyani International soared 6 per cent to Rs 119.70.
Larsen & Toubro Infotech: The IT software player advanced 16 per cent to Rs 6,847.80 after a strong show in the September 2021 quarter. The IT company reported a 20.8 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 551.7 crore for the quarter ended September 30.
TTK Prestige: The kitchen appliance maker soared 12 per cent to Rs 9,893.65 as the company is going to consider a stock split on Wednesday, October 27, when the board will announce the financial results for the quarter ended September 30.
Mahindra CIE Automotive: The industrial products player surged 9 per cent to Rs 286 on the back of a strong technical setup. The traded volume of the scrip jumped manifold compared to the two-week daily average.
TCNS Clothing: The apparel and accessories manufacturer soared 7 per cent to Rs 719.15 on the back of strong festive demand. Also, the Maharashtra Government has allowed the shops to open till 11 pm in the night.
Sonata Software: The IT consultancy player gained 5 per cent to Rs 966.80 after the company announced its Q2 results. It reported a net profit of Rs 87.4 crore in the September 2021 quarter. The company also announced an interim dividend of Rs 8 per share.
LOSERS
Jubilant Ingrevia: The speciality, nutrition and life science chemicals company tanked 13 per cent to Rs 706.25 despite it reported 43 per cent growth in net profit to Rs 111 crore for the quarter ending September 2021.
Alok Industries: The integrated textile company shed 12 per cent to Rs 23.70 after it reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 84.11 crore for the second quarter ended September 30. The company reported a net profit in the corresponding period.
Inox Wind: The heavy electrical equipment player gave up 10 per cent to Rs 115.60 after the company announced to acquire the entire issued and paid-up equity share capital of Resco Global Wind Services Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of the company.
Tata Power: The electric utilities company fell 10 per cent to Rs 230.55 as investors booked some profits in the counter. The scrip has soared over 75 per cent in the last month and investors turned cautious.
IRCTC: The railway ticket booking monopoly declined 9 per cent to Rs 5363 as the investors booked profits in the company after a sharp 50 per cent rise in the last month. The stock is likely to be in the F&O ban soon.
