HDFC Bank(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IDFCBANK(down 2.94 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(down 1.85 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.74 per cent), RBLBANK(down 1.74 per cent) and Federal Bank(down 1.68 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.47 per cent at 39497.65 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 20.3 points at 18456.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 25.75 points at 61739.84.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.
