The NSE Nifty50 index ended 152.15 points down at 18266.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 456.09 points at 61259.96.
Bharti Airtel(up 4.02%), State Bank of India(up 2.4%), Tata Motors(up 1.04%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.64%), Axis Bank(up 0.39%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.33%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.28%), ITC(up 0.26%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.09%) and HCL Technologies(up 0.06%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 3.9%), Titan Company Ltd(down 2.96%), Hindustan Unilever(down 2.68%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.64%), Bajaj Finserv(down 2.48%), UPL Ltd(down 2.43%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 2.43%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.33%), NTPC(down 2.27%) and Coal India(down 2.17%) closed in the red.
