NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, 3i Infotech(267.41%), IRB Infra Dev.(20.0%), Balurghat Tech(19.92%), Rail Vikas Nigam(19.92%), Kaarya Facilities(19.37%) and Mahalaxmi Rub(17.54%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 101.88 points down at 60821.62, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 63.2 points down at 18114.9.
In the Nifty50 index, 16 stocks closed in the green, while 33 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as 3i Infotech, IRB Infra Dev., Rail Vikas Nigam, Mahalaxmi Rub and Diggi Multitrade hit their fresh 52-week high, while UTL Industries, Texel Ind(PP), Biocon, Trescon and India Green Reality touched their new 52-week low in today’s trade.
