IDFCBANK(up 2.41 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 1.78 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 1.49 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.46 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(up 0.89 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Federal Bank(down 0.78 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.16 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 0.06 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.69 per cent at 40306.05 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 96.9 points at 18275.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 392.02 points at 61315.52.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.
