The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 121.5 points down at 17993.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 292.85 points at 60528.77 at around 09:59AM.
ICICI Bank(up 8.19%), Axis Bank(up 1.87%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.85%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.21%) and NTPC(up 0.28%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 3.22%), Asian Paints(down 3.2%), Shree Cement(down 3.02%), Bajaj Auto(down 3.01%), Tata Motors(down 2.95%), Eicher Motors(down 2.85%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.52%), Maruti Suzuki(down 2.39%), UPL Ltd(down 2.36%) and Wipro(down 2.32%) were trading in the red.
