Prataap Snacks(down 3.69%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 2.93%), P & G Hygiene(down 2.54%), Zydus Wellness(down 1.70%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.65%), Hind.Foods(down 1.37%), Dodla Dairy(down 1.22%), Nestle India(down 1.11%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 1.03%) and Varun Beverages(down 1.03%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 57.45 points down at 18210.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 206.93 points at 61143.33.
Asian Paints(up 4.2%), UPL Ltd(up 3.96%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.6%), Cipla(up 1.65%), Infosys(up 1.48%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.43%), State Bank of India(up 1.29%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.22%), SBI Life(up 1.19%) and Shree Cement(up 1.19%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Axis Bank(down 6.46%), Bajaj Finance(down 4.75%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 3.19%), Tata Motors(down 2.11%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.86%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.65%), JSW Steel(down 1.36%), NTPC(down 1.33%), Tata Steel(down 1.3%) and Hindalco Industries(down 1.28%) closed in the red.
