Bosch(up 3.82 per cent), Exide Industries(up 2.6 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(up 2.59 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 1.27 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(up 1.24 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tata Motors(down 0.78 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.68 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(down 0.17 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.37 per cent at 11339.0 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 73.85 points at 17745.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 206.38 points at 59513.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Kriti Ind, Transport Corp, LG Balakrishnan, Precision Wires and Minda Corp. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Vikas Proppant & Gr, Asian Hotels(W), Jiya Eco Products Lt, Intnl Conveyors and Sagardeep Alloys hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
