NEW DELHI: Tata Power(numbers of share traded: 9.16 crore), Vodafone Idea(numbers of share traded: 8.21 crore), Bank of Baroda(numbers of share traded: 6.19 crore), YES Bank(numbers of share traded: 6.05 crore), PNB(numbers of share traded: 5.27 crore), Tata Motors(numbers of share traded: 5.16 crore), RBL Bank(numbers of share traded: 4.97 crore), SAIL(numbers of share traded: 4.94 crore), JP Power(numbers of share traded: 4.70 crore) and IDFC First Bank(numbers of share traded: 4.64 crore) emerged top gainers in Tuesday’s market in terms of trading volume.
The NSE Nifty index closed 40.7 points down at 17888.95, while BSE Sensex ended down 109.4 points at 60029.06.
On the other hand, Tata Steel Ltd.(down 3.75 per cent), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 2.51 per cent), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 2.34 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.07 per cent) and Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 2.04 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
