Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 2.04%), Agro Phos(down 0.84%), Aries Agro(down 0.25%), Coromandel International(down 0.15%) and Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 0.09%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 40.7 points down at 17888.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 109.4 points at 60029.06.
Maruti Suzuki(up 2.31%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.98%), NTPC(up 1.75%), State Bank of India(up 1.16%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.13%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.08%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.56%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.49%), Axis Bank(up 0.47%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.44%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Steel(down 3.75%), Grasim Industries(down 2.51%), JSW Steel(down 2.34%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.07%), Hindalco Industries(down 2.04%), HCL Technologies(down 1.56%), Reliance Industries(down 1.46%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.35%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.3%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.2%) closed in the red.
