Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.05 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 0.95 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IndusInd Bank(down 11.18 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 1.49 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.17 per cent), Axis Bank(down 0.92 per cent) and HDFC Bank(down 0.87 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 1.07 per cent at 39148.7 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 18.85 points at 17897.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 74.82 points at 59992.8.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.
